Pictured above is Mozaiq's first necklace commission. It is a protective piece, meant to reflect any energy the wearer encounters directly back to it's owner. The wearer's body is also fortified by the power of the cross shape within the ring of the gear charms. Mozaiq draws on the power of the "Kongo Cross" or "Dikenga" often in their work--not to be confused with the christian cross. The gear symbology compliments Dikenga well, implying motion, function and, therefore, life. Dikenga is not a static symbol; it is a cosmogram, a map of the universe, and simultaneously, a map of a life's course.
